Christchurch City Council Motorway Project.
A large-scale endeavour using TERRAMULCH (Now called DAGMAT) ground matting to suppress weeds and protect and enhance planted areas along motorway banks and around riparian water catchment areas.
The earthworks along the motorway corridor leave large-scale areas of bare earth, subject to erosion and weeds.
DAGMAT was installed over these areas and plantings were then made through the matting. The DAGMAT enhances the take and growth of the plantings, helping retain water and suppress weed competition.
The DAGAMAT provides a mud-free surface for planting and maintenance and also helps negate muddy runoff of topsoil while visually enhancing the whole site through the establishment stage.
